The first class session for the 2011-2012 school year will start August 29, 2011, 6:30pm - 9:30pm, Room 8, at Ukiah Adult School.

This class is for those of you who want to become naturalized citizens of the United States of America and either have had a "green card" for 3 years, been married to a US citizen for those 3 years and have lived with that citizen for those same 3 years, or, for those of you who have had a "green card" for at least 5 years. In either case you must have a clean record to meet the United States Citizenship Immigration Service's (USCIS) good morale character requirements.
Speaking, reading, and writing in English is important in order to pass the USCIS test.
You may have your CIS interview/test done in your native language if you have had:
- a green card for at least 20 years and are at least 50 years old, or
- a green card for at least 15 years and are at least 55 years old, or
- a green card for at least 20 years and are at least 65 years old.
- and a clean record.

The application fee is $680. Starting November 23, 2010 the price of fingerprint fee went up by $5. The total application fee is now $595 for N-400 and $85 for the fingerprints (biometrics).
The class session is free and will take place over 5 Monday evenings.
