IRS certified accounting volunteers will prepare and e-file income tax returns for U.S. citizens and residents with incomes of less than $40,000, Feb. 17-March 13 and again, April 7-11 in Mountlake Terrace Hall 212 at Edmonds Community College. This confidential tax preparation will be offered on a drop-in basis at Edmonds Community College’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site established through the Internal Revenue Service. Last year Edmonds Community College helped more than 300 community members file their tax returns.
Specific days and times:
• 3-5:30 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 17-March 12;
• 1-5:30 p.m., Feb. 27, Mar. 6, 7 and 13;
• 3-5:30 p.m., April 7, 9; and
• 1-5:30 p.m., April 10 and 11.
No tax preparation will be done during spring break March 14-April 6, 2009. Help will be available in several languages, please call 425.640.1874 for details.
To get tax help, bring: a copy of last year's tax return (if available), picture ID, social security cards for all family members, W-2 forms, 1099 and 1098 forms, unemployment compensation statements, child care expenses (including provider name, address and employer number), student loan information and a list of other income and expenses. Tax forms will be provided.
