Stroke is the number one cause of death in the United States. In the US, a stroke occurs every 40 seconds and is responsible for more than 137,000 deaths each year.
As part of May’s “National Stroke Awareness Month,” Abrazo Health has teamed up with the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association to offer free stroke screenings to the community at Hospitals throughout the Valley.
Open to the community, the FREE stroke check screenings include:
• Vital signs
• Glucose (blood sugar)
• Review of family history
• Risk factor assessment
• Stroke education and materials
• Bruit Check (abnormal sound in carotid artery) if indicated
