Community Hospital Anderson will offer free smoking cessation classes using the Cooper/Clayton Stop Smoking Method. The classes will run from July 23 through Oct. 15, meeting every Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at Community Anderson’s Education Center, 1923 N. Madison Avenue.
The Cooper/Clayton Stop Smoking method was developed by Dr. Thomas Cooper and Dr. Richard Clayton. It is a 12-week program that incorporates the use of a nicotine replacement product with learned behavior skills that will enable you to become a healthy non-smoker. Participants must provide their own nicotine replacement products (if desired). The program is most effective when participants attend every session.
The benefits of becoming a healthy non-smoker include lower insurance costs, higher levels of energy and an improved quality of life.
