FREE Day at Lakewood’s Heritage Center
Rockin’ Block Party
Lakewood’s Heritage Center hosts a retro day of fun and entertainment with a Rockin’ Block Party, a free community event honoring Lakewood's heritage and its dedicated residents on Saturday, June 4 at Lakewood’s Heritage Center, 801 S. Yarrow St. (Wadsworth Boulevard and West Ohio Avenue).
Free hour-long tours of the Heritage Center will be provided from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and they will include the 1920s Country School, Streer-Peterson House, Ethel's Beauty Salon and 88¢ Variety Store, 1930s Farmhouse and the White Way Grill. Lakewood's Heritage Center showcases the culture and history of Lakewood in the 20th century with more than 10 historic structures, thousands of artifacts, a festival area and an outdoor amphitheater. From 5 to 7 p.m., guests can participate in the event’s fun and games! Prizes will be awarded in the following events:
• Drive a Marshmallow - using a toy golf club to drive a marshmallow, longest drive wins
• Hula Hoop - the person who keeps the hula hoop up the longest wins
• Water Balloon Toss - in pairs, participants who can toss the balloon back and forth without busting it wins
The fun continues into the evening with a FREE rockin’ tribute to the hits of the 1980s with a performance by Into the Groove at 7:30 p.m. followed by a FREE screening of “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” at 9 p.m. at the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Amphitheater. The event is sponsored by Foothills Credit Union.
Ice Cream, candies and soda will be available for purchase starting at 5 p.m. in the White Way Grill. Foothills Credit Union will be providing free popcorn during the concert and movie.

9 p.m. – Outdoor Movie – “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” (Rated PG13 for language)
Concert Reminders
• There is no structured seating available; feel free to bring your own picnic and chair or blanket.
• To facilitate viewing by all patrons, a limited seating area will be available for chairs with the top of the back of the chair measuring more than 32 inches from the ground or chairs with legs measuring over 5 inches.
• No pets, glass containers or bicycles allowed in the concert area.
• Programs subject to change.
