The Intermediate Choir of the Young People’s Chorus of Erie, Pa., will give a free performance in downtown Buffalo on Saturday, June 5.
The concert will be held at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 491 Emslie St. The Intermediate Choir performs under the direction of YPC Erie assistant director Melissa Heitzenrater-Beichner.
YPC Erie, the first affiliate program of the esteemed Young People’s Chorus of New York City, is an outreach effort of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College. The program’s five choirs are comprised of children ages 7 to 18 who are drawn from diverse backgrounds but united in the common goal of vocal-music excellence.
The YPC Erie Chorale performed in New York City’s Carnegie Hall on May 23; prior to its St. Ann’s performance, the Intermediate Choir will spend the day with the Toronto Children’s Chorus.
