Free Outdoor Art Market & Day of Music in Sopchoppy
The Free Outdoor Art Market & Day of Music is a free community affair and activities takes place from 10 am to 5 pm
The concept of this small affair is to create a free forum in support of the arts, create a networking opportunity, enhance local business, enhance awareness of our community and create a free event that folks can enjoy during these economically hard times.
There will be vendors exhibiting and smokin’ performances and jams going on throughout the day.
All Activities for this event are taking place on Municipal Ave. Starting at The Frog and The Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse at the Corner of Rose Street and Municipal.
Vendors will be on the corners of Rose Street on both sides of the street and entire length of Municipal Ave. Vendors will continue just past Backwoods Bistro.
There will be Complimentary Iced Tea & Cookies for Visitors which will be offered inside at The Frog and The Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse..
The Frog and The Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse will have Coffee, Tea, Cold Beverages, Cold Bottled Water, Hot Dogs, and Desserts for Sale during the day with additional offerings at the performance.. .
Sally’s Restaurant will be open with their regular menu and Backwoods Bistro will be having their Fabulous Weekend Dinner Special, Pizza and their full menu. The Sopchoppy Grocery Store has all your picnic needs and ice.
Free Live Music will take place from 10 am to 5 pm with special announcements between sets. Music will be set up just past the Frog and The Hummingbird Co and there is a grassy area across from there. Bring a blanket to sit on or a folding camping chair. You might even want to bring an umbrella if it is really hot or at least a hat.

Each artist will be providing a prize for the free drawings and as well as The Frog and Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse. Drawing entries will be at four locations (The Frog and The Hummingbird Co, Backwoods Bistro, Sopchoppy Grocery Store, & Lisa’s Timeless Treasures) giving everyone four chances to win.
Artists and Vendors already confirmed for August 6 include Lori Volano-- Sopchoppy River art, Deb McCoy-- Pet items, Penny Kerruish-- Pet Gifts, Debbie McReynolds--Painted signs, bird baths, bird houses and feeders, Sherry McCall--Stone Mosaic work, Don Bishop-- Forged Knives, Jim and Joy Green-- Whimsical Paintings, Carla Parris--Traditional Watercolor and also collage and multimedia whimsical pieces, Ken Methvin-the Muffin man Magnetic products and eye exam info, Vicki Cole with mixed media Art by Angela; whimsical notecards, homemade Dad's Bar-B-Q and Spicy Honey Mustard Sauces and maybe some aloe plants in decorative pots, Misty Penley with photography, Rick Swaine's Old English Garden Pots, Photographs by Nancy Conoly and more. And The Frog and the Hummingbird Co & Butterfield's Roadhouse will be representing a designer line of Mermaid products by Tammy Derwick, as well as Photographs by Jess Gaboury.
The lineup of musicians for June 4 and July 2 included: Gabriel Butterfield, Jim Crozier, Bodega Bob & Sugar Harris of Cheap and Easy, Mike Lanigan, Frank Lindamood, Ken Methvin~~ “Muffin Man”, Matt Kornegay, Deb “Sweetgroove” Berlinger of Charles Atkins Band and Mayhaws, Andy “Sax Man” Moorer, Tommy Owen, Jimi Mckenzie, Susan & Snorrii Solburg, Cody Solburg & Friends (Tupelo Railroad), Dale Cook and more. As well as Middle Eastern and Hawaiian Dance by Step Studio and Tallahassee Tribal Bellydance.
Artists, Crafters, Authors and assorted vendors are invited to set up tables for free for this affair and Musicians are able to showcase their talent and promote their upcoming performances, sell their Cd’s and present promotional materials. (Register with Salli Squitieri) Artists must reserve a space and check in upon arrival prior to set-up.
So make a day of it, help get the word out and attend in support of the arts.
Please don’t forget to bring a donation of one non-perishable food item for our local food bank and/or a pet need for CHAT or used eye glasses for the Lion’s club. Donations can be dropped off anytime at The Frog and The Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse at 118 Municipal Ave Corner of Rose St Sopchoppy FL.
You could pick up something the same day at the Sopchoppy Grocery Store or Sopchoppy Hardware Store and drop it off.
Salli Squitieri and Gabriel Butterfield proprietors of The Frog and Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse encourage everyone to browse the many intriguing shops and businesses throughout Sopchoppy.
Also the Florida Wild Mammal association is in dire need of support. Of Immediate need are donations of fruit and lettuce and other items for animals they are caring for.
