Liberation Film Series - Free Movie Screening
Lumumba (2000), Raoul Peck, dir.

Celebrate Black History month with a free screening of Raoul Peck's poignant film Lumumba (2000). The movie documents the life and death of the brilliant African politician Patrice Lumumba. Lumumba was the shining star of a generation of post-independence African left-wing leaders interested in charting a course away from Western dependency and imperialism. Peck's Lumumba is a tragic figure whose demise raises questions about the possibilities for the liberation of Africa in the 21st century.
