The New York Packet Singers will entertain and delight the whole family with a free performance of sea shanties and songs of tall ships on Friday, January 21st from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Seaport Museum New York, located at 12 Fulton Street (between Front Street and Water Street) in Manhattan.
The performance is offered as part of the Museum’s Free Friday program. On the third Friday of each month, Seaport Museum New York presents free public programs and Museum staff members provide free tours through the Museum’s exhibitions. For this month’s Free Friday, guests can view the Normandie exhibition, “DECODENCE: Legendary Interiors and Illustrious Travelers Aboard the SS Normandie,” free of charge between 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
With its distinguished Art Deco design and highest quality furnishings, the SS Normandie epitomized style and sophistication and set the standard for luxurious travel in the 1930s. The famed luxury liner, which capsized in the mud of the Hudson River during World War II, comes back to life through vivid photos, recreated interiors and more than 100 remarkable items from the Art Deco era in the new exhibition “DECODENCE: Legendary Interiors and Illustrious Travelers Aboard the SS Normandie.”
