Free for women about to undergo cancer treatment August 10, 2009

For women about to undergo chemotherapy, the internal physical and emotional challenges are daunting enough. Couple these with the external realities of hair loss or scarring, and the trauma can be devastating. Veteran tattoo artist Sasha Merritt of Dragonfly Ink, with over 10 years' experience, offers transformational cosmetic and decorative tattoos to cancer survivors. In anticipation of October as breast cancer awareness month, Dragonfly Ink is offering permanent cosmetic tattooing, which helps offset the effects of hair loss, for women before they undergo chemotherapy. The permanent definition of eyebrows alone can allow women to retain some sense of normalcy during treatment. With a limited number of appointments available, Dragonfly Ink is offering this service at no cost in a professional studio, licensed by the San Francisco Health Department.
