Free Financial Seminars at the Tampa Florida Blue Center

The Tampa Florida Blue center invites residents to check-up on their fiscal health throughout May with its series of financial seminars, all focused on tackling complex money issues such as identity theft, credit repair and debt reduction in a friendly and accessible environment. Focused on financial wellness, the free seminars will enable locals to learn how to manage their finances and maximize their health care, ensuring a healthier tomorrow.

• Tuesday, May 10 – 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Identity Theft: Learn about the necessary steps to take in order to protect your information and avoid the common mistakes that allow thieves to steal your identity. Find out what to do if you have already become the victim of identity theft.

• Thursday, May 12 – 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Credit Repair and Debt Reduction: Learn how to get rid of the negative items on your credit report and raise your score. Learn about debt reduction—a penny saved is a penny toward debt reduction!

• Tuesday, May 17 – 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – 6 Steps to Financial Fitness: Learn how to develop a sound financial strategy—one that covers all the financial bases, from insurance to investing to estate conservation.

• Wednesday, May 18 – 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. – Small Steps to Health and Wealth: This class will discuss how to establish realistic financial and nutrition goals and behavior strategies to achieve those goals. Topics will include the transtheoretical model of behavior change, challenges of behavior change and strategies to achieve goals.
