Smithsonian Channel and Smithsonian Magazine present a special screening of the critically acclaimed documentary, UNCOMMON COURAGE: BREAKOUT AT CHOSIN at The San Diego Chinese Historical Museum on Friday, November 12, 2010 at 4:30pm in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Extension building located at 328 J Street, San Diego, CA 92101.
The Korean War may be considered “The Forgotten War,” but it brought us an unforgettable hero. During the war, Lieutenant Chew-Een Lee, the first commissioned U.S. Marine regular officer of Asian descent, battled communism, injuries, hypothermia and racism to help 8,000 U.S. Marines stave off certain capture at the hands of the enemy. Lt. Lee’s remarkable story is told in a Smithsonian Channel original documentary, UNCOMMON COURAGE: BREAKOUT AT CHOSIN.
RSVP required to attend this free screening. For more information or to RSVP, contact SDCHM at 619.338.9888, info@sdchm.org, or visit the museum website at www.sdchm.org.
