The Tigard Public Library will host a variety of family activities on Friday, Nov. 26, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. "Family Ties" offers both family crafts and conversations. In addition to its annual craft-making program, this year the Library will give families an opportunity to share memories and record them as a family keepsake.
The Library will provide recording equipment and sample questions to help start the conversation and inspire other questions. Library staff will make copies of the recordings for participating families. This program is presented in conjunction with the National Day of Listening, which encourages people to remember and appreciate the bonds that tie together family and friends, while also preserving their stories.
The popular crafts event will also encourage families to get crafty together. Library staff will provide both materials and instructions for beautiful family-oriented crafts perfect for all ages.
Family Ties will be held in the Community Room. Events at the Library are always free. For more information, please call the Library at 503-718-2656 or visit the Library's website at www.tigard-or.gov/library and click on Adult, Teen or Kids' events.
