Lace up your comfy shoes, grab your water bottle and take a stroll back in history with the Prescott Chamber of Commerce on its 2011 Walking Tours.
Starting May 6 and continuing through October 30, one of nine guides will set out at 10 am each Friday, Saturday and Sunday from the Visitor Information Center at 117 W. Goodwin Street. The center, managed by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, is the city’s officially designated tourism location for the state of Arizona.
Volunteers conduct the Walking Tours from their starting point outside the Chamber office as long as the weather co-operates and there are no special events that weekend on the Courthouse Square.
Reservations for the free (donations appreciated) Walking Tours are requested for parties of eight or more. Special tours can be arranged with Chamber officials at cost of $2 per person, which is donated to the Visitor Information Center to support local tourism.
Questions about the Walking Tours can be directed to the Chamber volunteers at 928-445-2000 or by stopping by the Visitor Information Center. A complete schedule of the tours also is available online at www.prescott.org.
