Local ceramist Suzanne Kane will be presenting a lecture titled “The Archie Bray Foundation: A Broad View of Ceramics” at the Branigan Cultural Center on October 24th at 11 AM. The lecture will cover Kane’s experiences during an artist residency at the prestigious Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in July of 2009. Brought to you by the Potters’ Guild of Las Cruces, this lecture is held in conjunction with “From the Ground Up XXIV,” a contemporary juried ceramics show currently on display at the Las Cruces Museum of Art through Saturday, November 7th. Two sculptural ceramic works by Suzanne Kane are part of the exhibition, including “Places I’ve Been,” winner of the Best of Show award from juror Blair Meerfeld. Admission to the lecture and exhibition are free of charge.
Suzanne Kane, recipient of a BFA in sculpture from Michigan State University and MFA in ceramics from New Mexico State University, has been exhibited internationally.
