This is a canvassing event for Stafford and Spotsylvania Counties in Virginia. When registering for the event, please provide your phone number and email address in the comments section. During the 2004 election there was a 60% turnout for Kerry. The voter base (voter registration) needs to be expanded, and the voter turnout rate increased. If you would like to come with a group let me know and we'll try to find one for you. There is also an Amtrak station in Fredericksburg. If you need any other accommodations please let me know. My contact information is: Arnold Gasper 443-336-0896 ajgasper@hughes.net. This area is located south of Washington, DC. Many of the people work in DC. There is a large military and veteran population. The northern portions are heavily populated, and the southern portions are rural. The area is rich in Civil War history with the Wilderness, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania Court House, and Peninsular battlefields. George Washington's boyhood home is nearby on the Rappahannock River, with Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown a couple of hours away.
