Fred Astaire and his sister Adele were the most popular dance team of their day. a box-office bonanza when they reached Broadway, ultimately stellar talents on the great stages of New York and London - until Adele re-tired at the peak of their success in 1932. She was only 35 and was widely thought to be the more talented of the two. 'The Last Dance' imagines a scene backstage be-tween Broadway performances of 'The Band Wagon,' when Fred tries to adjust to Adele's leaving their act, and show business, to marry into British royalty.
