Frecon Farms Launches 2008 Pick Your Own Season September 6

Pick Your Own season is right around the corner and Frecon Farms will welcome the fall harvest with a PYO Kickoff celebration September 6. The event will feature Pick Your Own apples, red fall raspberries and pears, live music in the orchard, wine tasting from Blair vineyards, a gift basket giveaway and plenty of fresh air and countryside to go around! It’s the perfect way to get out for a leisurely day pickin’ and picnickin’ at the Frecon family orchard

Pick Your Own at Frecon Farms will run from September 6 to October 26- Saturdays and Sundays only- and will feature everyone’s favorite varieties of apples including (in order of availability)- Macintosh, Gala, Golden Delicious, Red Delicious, Rome, Stayman Winesap, Fuji and Granny Smith. Pear varieties available include Comice and Jonathan. You can’t get much fresher than a day spent hand selecting the perfect fruit for you and your family!

Stop by Frecon Farms to find out which varieties will be available that week and while you’re at it be sure to check out the extensive selection of gourmet foods, meats, cheeses, wines and more at the roadside market.

In addition to apples, pears and raspberries this fall, Frecon’s will feature PYO pumpkins so don’t miss your chance to find that perfect jack-o-lantern when Halloween time rolls around.
