Born in Lisbon, Portugal, guitarist Francisco Pais defies cultural and musical stereotypes. Exposed to a wide range of music early on, from Fado and sixties rock, to traditional Brazilian music, Pais continues to explore boundary-defying music, composing exciting mixtures of American jazz with European classical music and Pop. Francisco is also head of the Wheeler School music department, and will showcase members of Wheeler's jazz band as well as his swinging quintet.
