The University of St. Thomas Chi Rho Theology Club will host “Fatima for Today,” a lecture by Father Andrew Apostoli, CFR, at 7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11 in Jones Hall, 3910 Yoakum.
Fr. Apostoli, a founding member of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, is an adjunct faculty member of Saint Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie, Yonkers, New York. Fr. Apostoli is considered one of the world's foremost experts on the apparitions at Fatima. He is the author of numerous books and a frequent guest on Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) where he hosted the TV special "Our Lady of Fatima and the First Saturday Devotion." He is currently serves as a Vice-Postulator for the Cause of Canonization for Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.
In his new book, Fr. Apostoli carefully analyzes the events that took place in Fatima and clears up lingering questions and doubts about their meaning. He also challenges the reader to hear anew the call of Our Lady to prayer and sacrifice, for the world is ever in need of generous hearts willing to make reparation for those in danger of losing their way to God.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Parking is available for $2 in the Moran Center Parking Garage, at West Alabama and Graustark. For more information, contact the Theology Department at 713-525-3582.
