The British male vocal quartet Fourum (correct spelling) will present a free concert at the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland Street, on Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets or reservations are not needed for the concert. Fourum performs both accompanied and a cappella renditions of traditional music from many cultures, English music hall favorites, Broadway tunes, classic and modern songs. This is Fourums fourth concert at the Williamsburg Library and is part of a multi-state tour the U.S. In addition to their Williamsburg Library appearance, they will be performing as part of Americas Anniversary Weekend at Jamestown. Members of Fourum hail from the same county in England as Jamestown settler John Smith.
The performers in Fourum are all member of the Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir -- a well-respected vocal group from Lincolnshire in the north of England. Since their founding in 1998, Fourum has entertained audiences in Great Britain and appeared on European and U.S. television. The group has won competitions in England and has hosted and arranged concerts for choirs from America, Germany and South Africa, as well as performing in the Republic of Georgia, the U.S. and Germany.
