Over the last three years, approximately 900 people have attended the Greg Wohrle Feel the Love Fest and over $60,000 has been raised for brain tumor research, funding, educational programs, seminars and meetings through the Florida Brain Tumor Association.

Florida Brain Tumor Association
In October 1990, the Florida Brain Tumor Association (formally South Florida Brain Tumor Association) was founded from a desperate need of brain tumor survivors and their families who were afflicted by this disease. Beginning in Boca Raton, Florida, with a handful of people, the first support group was conceived. Today, there are many additional support groups, stretching throughout the State of Florida. The FBTA is a not-for-profit 501(C3) organization that is supported by contributions of this kind, relying on the strength and dedication of our members, who are brain tumor survivors, family members and friends.
Our Medical Advisory Board is also voluntary and generous with their gifts of time. 100% of the funds raised by the Florida Brain Tumor Association are directed to brain tumor research, fundraising, educational programs, seminars and meetings.
Additionally, we provide a safe place to share experiences for both the brain tumor survivor and their families. The opportunity to learn from and help others in a similar situation offers a sense of helpfulness and hope. Support groups have been proven to be an integral part of the healing process. FBTA support groups are available several times a month, are free of charge and are professionally facilitated. We offer emotional support to ease families through the initial shock of diagnosis, helping them to cope and directing them to other resources they may need.
The Florida Brain Tumor Association is dedicated to the eradication of brain tumors and will continue raising funds, providing education, support and hope until one day a cure is found.
Greg Wohrle
On January 9th, 2006 Greg Wohrle, father of sons Justin, five years old, and AJ, three, and husband to Barbra, passed away at the age of 33 after 9 years of heroically facing life with brain cancer. Greg was an outstanding person whose good nature and light-hearted spirit made an everlasting impact on not only his two beautiful boys and wife, but also on a large family and enormous network of friends and business contacts.
Greg was a very special person. While he had a calm, loving and thoughtful way about him, he was also extremely fun and upbeat. He was aptly described by his high school football coach as a character indeed, but he possessed great character. He loved to have a good time with friends and loved ones and he had a knack for making people laugh. No matter what you were doing or where you were, if Greg was with you, you were having a great time.
Greg was an outstanding athlete. He wrestled, played baseball, basketball and was a stellar high school football player starting on both offense and defense. Shortly after graduating Fort Lauderdales Pine Crest School in 1990, Greg was enshrined in the schools Athletic Hall of Fame.
Since his passing, only a relatively short time ago, some awe-inspiring events have taken place; a testament to the special person Greg still is to so many people. At Pine Crest School, a new locker room for varsity athletes has been dedicated in Gregs name, his jersey was officially retired and a plaque bearing his name and the words Play like a Champion Today was unveiled that student-athletes now touch on the way out of the locker room to take the field. A video has been produced and a book is underway.
