Award-winning Cincinnati-based Wild Carrot will perform at the Historic Hoosier Theater in downtown Vevay, IN during the Feb. 14 Vevay Main Street Shows of Second Saturday. The folk music troupe will perform beginning at 7:00 pm at the theater located on Ferry Street.
Rooted in traditional American music, musicians Pam Temple and Spencer Funk talents branch in diverse directions—from award-wining original songs to swing, from traditional and not-so-traditional folk songs to show tunes and blues. They perform interesting arrangements with vocals, guitar, mandolin, concertina, penny whistle, dulcimer and the occasional bowed psaltery.
In quartet with their Roots Band featuring Brenda Wolfersberger and Brandt Smith, they expand to four vocals and add bass, banjo and dobro. Their performances have often been described as “honest, soothing, uplifting and fun all at the same time”, moving an audience from laughter to tears and back again in a way that makes the listener feel like they’re in a conversation with old friends.
Wild Carrot member Pam Temple can also be found on the airways through her own radio show on Cincinnati’s WNKU 89.7 FM.
Tickets are $10 each for adults and $7 each for children 12 and under. Purchases can be made at the door, or at the Switzerland County Visitors Center located at 128 West Main Street in downtown Vevay.
