Off the Beat-n-Track and MAD with Music are pleased to present FODfest '08, a concert tour honoring the life and ideals of the late Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002. In addition to being a journalist, Pearl was a talented musician who played a variety of instruments including violin and mandolin. Wherever he traveled and lived, Danny was actively involved in the local music scene. Organized by musician and producer Todd Mack, FOD stands for Friends of Danny and the concerts will feature many of the musicians who played in bands or jammed with Pearl while he was alive, as well as many who never knew him but connect with his story. FODfest is a unique concert format: part song-swap, part jam session. Most of the participating musicians will be meeting for the first time on stage.
