FlyNY is an international kite design competition open to architects, engineers, artists, students, and children. Participants present their original kite designs at the inaugural kite flying event in the New York City parks. No prior experience is necessary.

Those not participating in the competition are welcome to come for the morning festivities, which will include workshops on kite-making for children and time to fly their new creations! Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own kites to fly.

Schedule:

10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Registration and Kite-making Workshops
10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Free Fly
12:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Kite Design Competition
4:00 p.m.: Judges Deliberation and Awards
