Flying Saucer Spring Beer Tasting Featuring Highland Brewing Company May 21, 2009

Flying Saucer Draught Emporium will present a beer tasting featuring Asheville, N.C.-based Highland Brewing Company on Thursday, May 21, at 7 p.m. at its location 931 Senate St.

The event will be hosted by Highland sales and marketing representative Kristin Orr and will pair five of Highland’s beers with five courses. Featured beer and food pairings include the Cattail Peak Wheat with chimichurri and mojo lettuce wraps; the Gaelic Ale with roasted chili potato soup; the Kashmir IPA with hearts of palm salad; a cask of St. Theresa’s Pale Ale with jerk chicken and sofrito risotto; and the Imperial Black Mocha Stout with sopapillas and Black Mocha Stout ice cream.
