Experience the broadcast of a live 1940s-style radio show, featuring The Glamorous Gourmet, The Shadow: The Nursery Rhyme Murders, The Monkey's Paw, and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century: Killer Kane Hides the Rocket.
Flying Leap Players produces radio theater pieces that are as interesting visually as they are aurally, because they try to recreate the feeling of an old-time radio studio: they dress in period clothing and use no recorded sound effects or music (unless they absolutely have to). The actors' stage personas are not the characters they play in the radio production, but rather the actors who play those roles. You'll see that live radio is not merely reading into a microphone while someone makes sounds effects--it is theater.
The event will be preceded by a talk for Series Subscribers and Friends of Beckman Auditorium members beginning at 7:00 p.m.
