Performing a spectacular mix of country, bluegrass, jazz, The Beatles, Bach, pop, Hungarian gypsy tunes and more, the virtuoso trio Time for Three is composed of Zachary De Pue on violin, Nicolas Kendall on violin and Ranaan Meyer on double bass. Their collaboration started out as students at the Curtis Institute of Music in 1999, where they would get together to play for fun, and it seems the fun just keeps on growing along with the accolades and rave reviews. Famed conductor Sir Simon Rattle describes the group as simply "a knockout," pianist and conductor Peter Nero says "they are an orchestra unto themselves," and The Washington Post calls them "dazzling." Their list of engagements has run into the hundreds in just three years and has included everything from being the opening act for k.d. lang to performing with the Philadelphia Pops Orchestra. The 2008/09 season marks Time for Three's debut with TFO.
