Florida Classical Ballet Presents: "The Nutcracker" December 11, 2010

Florida’s newest classical ballet company, directed by Magaly Suarez, presents an exciting new version of the beloved holiday ballet.

A mixed troupe of professional dancers -- including Mayara Pineiro, Joseph Gatti (Boston Ballet), Mifa Ko, Ernesto Borrayo and John Sheaffer -- along with talented young students compose this company, full of life in its first ballet presentation.

The Nutcracker, a ballet in two acts, transports the audience from the Christmas Eve party at the Stahlbaum’s home to the battle of the Mouse King and his mice against the Prince Nutcracker and his soldiers. The first act concludes with a trip to the Land of Snow. In the second act, Clara and her Prince Nutcracker attend all the dances at the Kingdom of Sweets.
