The Miami Florida Blue Center invites Miami-Dade County residents to their June Weekly Wellness Events. Themed around being healthy from head to toe, these free events are open to the community and will include the following:
• Wednesday, June 2, 6:00 p.m. “Spot the Block-Get Your Food Facts” – Get simple, actionable tips to make informed choices and participate in helpful demonstrations that will have you shopping like a pro in no time.
• Wednesday, June 9, 6:00 p.m. “Summer Safety” – Learn how to prevent heat and sun related injuries, avoid pesky bug bites and stings, and reduce the risk of injuries from sports and water activities.
• Wednesday, June 16, 10:00 a.m. “Men’s Health: Tune-up for Life” – Learn how regular check-ups and screenings specific can keep men healthy and help avoid costly procedures. *In celebration of World Blood Donor Day, there will also be a blood drive from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, June 23, 6:00 p.m. “Staying Strong and Fall Prevention” – One-third of all persons age 60 or older fall each year. Learn how nutrition, exercise and proper safety precautions can limit risk of injury.
• Wednesday, June 30, 6:00 p.m. “Hypertension and Diabetes” – Join us for tips on living healthy and managing the risk factors of Diabetes or Hypertension.
