Why do you have a support rally for something that is supposed to be a "done deal"?

It sounds like Ratner and Atlantic Yards supporters are getting a tad desperate.

Here's where Atlantic Yards stands:

The first phase won't be built for 12 years, and NOBODY knows when Phase 2 might happen (that's where most of the affordable housing units are).

Here's what the pro-Atlantic Yards folks funded by Forest City Ratner are planning:

Come out and support the Brooklyn Atlantic Yards project...affordable housing, jobs and more bring... families, church's or schools this will be an excellent opportunity to come out to a FREE event ...FREE food and give-away's. Get a chance to meet some celebrity basketball players from the NETS...and take pictures...and enjoy the day.

It sounds like a fine opportunity to celebrate benefits that will never happen. Best to get the free food and give-away's while they're available.
