Flickr MUK Group Trip to Lyme Park March 30, 2008

A flickr ManchesterUK group meet up out in the sticks!

As for those of us coming by public transport, the following train should suffice - it goes from Blackpool North to Buxton via Disley and gets in at the following times:

Bolton - 1026
Salford Crescent - 1039
Oxford Road - 1046
Piccadilly - 1056
Stockport - 1108
Disley - 1124

From Disley, walk out of the station, across the bridge back over the tracks and follow the footpath on the other side, this will take you to Lyme Park itself and you can either follow the road in the park or walk via Cage Hill (if you're feeling energetic!). Or walk along the main road from Disley to the park entrance, go down the hill to the admission kiosk and if the shuttle bus is running, get that.

The alternative is the 199 bus from Manchester Airport to Buxton via Stockport as Salford Ian mentioned. A quick look at the Sunday timetable reveals the following:

Manchester Airport - 1045
Stockport - 1100
Hazel Grove - 1117
Disley Rams Head (opposite train station) - 1127 - so it'll arrive at the park entrance a couple of mins earlier than that.
