Fleet Week kickoff: Parade of Ships May 25, 2011

Service men and women in the armed forces will sail into New York City in the “Parade of Ships,” ushering in the 24th annual Fleet Week celebration on Wednesday, May 25th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue) in Manhattan.

The Parade of Ships officially kicks off this year’s Fleet Week festivities that take place from May 25- May 30, 2010. A Fleet Week icon, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum hosts many popular Fleet Week events including military displays and demonstrations, special performances, athletic challenges between groups of visiting marines and sailors and a special Memorial Day ceremony.
