Flea Market/Swap Meet July 10, 2009

I am a new resident to Hastings and have searched far and wide for a swap meet or flea market in this area. I checked at the Adams county fairgrounds but they said they have an auction. If we dont have any nearby, I would like to start one. If anyone knows a reason why this great American tradition has been tried before and failed or any official info on the subject please reply to my e-mail: kpopeney@yahoo.com
I would be willing to start the legwork if there are no objections. This would be a free event to all, the second Saturday of each month except holiday weekends and fairground events. I will check on dumpsters, bathroom facilities and the after-event clean-up.
