Soong May-ling, Wellesley College class of 1917, began to paint in her middle age, and quickly distinguished herself as a gifted pupil. A 1952 feature on her watercolors in Life magazine proclaimed her “aptitude far greater than that of most amateurs.” Madame Chiang donated the paintings to Wellesley College, allowing future generations of students and Davis visitors to enjoy and be inspired by her artistic work.
