Free Health Fair for Teens
Get Fit For Life at Detroit Public Library
Saturday, August 18, 2007, the Detroit Public Library is hosting a Fit for Life Community Health Fair for all ages with a focus on young adults.
There will be screenings for blood pressure, HIV, cholesterol and cleanliness to test for germs. Services will be provided by health agencies, family planning and other organizations. Free educational materials, massage services, pedometers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, brochures, bookmarks, tip sheets, and referrals will be available. Snacks will be provided.
This fair will be a collaborative effort with The Michigan Chronicle, The City of
Detroit Health Department, Wayne County Community College, Karmanos Institute, WJLB, Video Suite Midwest Studio and Youthville, supported by a grant by the Met Life Foundation. Our mission is to serve and educate the community on the many health issues our teens and their families face in today's world.
Cost: Free for all ages
