ABOUT: Daemond Arrindell
Producer of the longest running weekly show in Seattle, Arrindell is the Slammaster of Seattle, a workshop facilitator, community organizer, and poet. Curator and producer of the Seattle Slam (the longest running weekly show in Seattle) and 8-time coach of the renowned Seattle National Slam Team. He’s performed in venues throughout Washington State and across the country including the Boston Poetry Slam, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, NYC’s Louder Arts Project and Washington D.C.’s historic Busboys and Poets., and has been commissioned numerous times by both Seattle and Bellevue Arts Museums. He facilitates poetry and theater residencies at Monroe Men’s prison and is a Writer-In-Residence through Seattle Arts & Lectures’ Writers in the Schools Program. Most recently, he was invited to be an adjunct faculty member of Seattle University teaching spoken word. Daemond believes poetry is a grand tree with a vast array of branches that all contribute to the complexity of the art form.
