First Time Hikers December 1, 2010

Hikers to meet at the Cholla Day Use parking lot to begin this moderately easy hike. This "introduction to hiking" hike starts on the Treasure Loop Trail, then converges to the Jacob Crosscut Trail. The trail includes a small steeper and rockier section followed by a smooth, well maintained section giving hikers experience in both hiking terrains. We will be stopping at a small amphitheater to take a break, discuss the trail, and answer hiking questions. Then retrace our steps to the Cholla Day use area. The hike is 2.5 mi with a 50 ft elevation change. Plan for a 2 hour hike. Contact the Park: (480) 982-4485.
