Bay Area Green Tours' First Thursdays will cover a different green topic each month.  These engaging tours highlight successful green ventures and "sustainability in action."  Join us on these monthly tours departing from The Oakland Museum at 9am the First Thursday of each month in conjunction with Oakland Museum's Green Membership and the Museum's Natural Sciences Guild. You'll meet great people and be inspired in a green way!  The tour will conclude back at the Oakland Museum at 5:00 pm.  Please call with any questions, we would be delighted to have you on our tours. May 6th GREEN CORRIDOR TOUR: An Inspiring look at the East Bay's Green Corridor. Meet leaders of sustainability face to face, discover what it takes to be green certified, learn about cutting-edge energy and resource efficient buildings and take home a personal action plan.

June 3rd FARM TO FORK TOUR: Discover where the food on our fork is grown. Pick fruit straight from the trees in an orchard, learn about local food sources and the nitty gritty of how sustainable farmer care for the earth while bringing delicious food to your table.

July 1st RE-THINKING WASTE TOUR: One' persons garbage is another one's gold. Experience first hand how waste is transformed into valuable products, discover create re-use and recycling and learn how we can avoid dumping tons of reusable materials into the landfill.
