Substance Abuse: Risks and Responsibilities - UNDERSTANDING THE RISKS OF TOBACCO AND CAFFEINE: Even today, many teenagers and adults do not understand that nicotine and caffeine are highly addictive substances. This seminar addressees the major health risks associated with smoking tobacco and drinking caffeinated beverages, with a special emphasis on lung cancer and other smoking – related conditions. The attractiveness of tobacco and caffeine in American culture is also explored, highlighting the roles of advertising and peer pressure in promoting cigarettes and coffee.

SPECIAL NOTE: PARENTS, IF YOU HAVE TEENS WHO SMOKE, A NICOTINE SYSTEM PATCH STOP SMOKING AID WILL BE ISSUED TO YOU. THEY COME FROM THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. (THEY ARE LIMITED, ONLY 20 WILL BE ISSUED, IT’S A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS).
