Tour of National Museum of African Art with pre tour Lunch at the American Indian Museum

Today, explore the world of African art as we receive a private docent lead tour of this exciting museum. Beforehand, enjoy a special lunch at the nearby American Indian Museum.

1) LUNCH:

Choices of:
- Maple Roasted Turkey with Cranberry and Crab Apple Relish;
- Chicken Tamal with Peanuts and Chiles, or Black Bean Tamal in a Corn Husk;
- Two Corn or Soft Tacos with choice of Beef Machaca, Chicken in Green Mole or Pibil;
- Campfire Buffalo Burger.
All served with a choice of two side dishes, a fountain beverage and dinner roll or corn bread.

Afterwards take a little time to explore the museum. Experience the history and culture of the Native American through original art galleries and displays as you take in many permanent exhibitions (tens of thousands of artifacts) that represent important ideas and experiences in Native life and history. In addition, temporary exhibitions present individual artists works, explore specific themes in Indian culture, and bring objects from other institutions to the museum.

2. HIGHLIGHTED TOUR OF THE MUSEUM OF AFRICAN ART

Today, we'll be given an exciting private docent lead tour. We'll examine the historic and evolving culture of several different tribes and culture from African. With hundreds and hundreds of works - from private collections as well as national and international public collections - we'll experience a range of artistic genres and media dating from centuries past to the present. Including highlights of the Sahara Nomads, the Tishman African Art collection, Ceramics, and much more!
