Grammy Award winner Charlie Haden is widely considered to be among the greatest-ever jazz bassists. He has contributed pivotal music to a stunning scope of genres - avant-garde, small group, big band, world music, folk, and gospel, to name but a few. Haden holds residence at Yoshi's SF in June, where he'll be placed with two very unique settings. First Haden will join vibraphone grandmaster, Bobby Hutcherson and elegant pianist George Cables. We're calling this bill "Three Friends," because they're all old pals, going back to the '50s. Of his band mates Cables had this to say, "Bobby Hutcherson and Charlie Haden are two jazz icons. Over the years I've had the great good fortune to have played with each separately. This chance to double that pleasure only proves that life can always offer new adventures." This is the trio's debut performance and a Yoshi's San Francisco exclusive.
