We are delighted to invite you to the Edinburgh Rathayatra festival! The festival will take place on Sunday, 8th of August, 2PM-3PM. The procession starts at Holyrood Park Road near Commonwealth Pool, Holyrood Park. It will finish near Holyrood Palace, Holyrood Park.
The Rathayatra festival in Edinburgh this year will be a part of Edinburgh Festivals’ Cavalcade procession. Thus there will be hundreds and thousands of participants and spectators. Please come with all your family, relatives and friends and take advantage of this event. Lord Jagannath wants to see you and give His mercy to you! Please arrive early to avoid disappointment, because procession will go on for 1h only.
This Festival has been observed for thousands of years in Jagannath Puri, India. During this Festival, the deity forms of Lord Jagannatha (the Lord of the Universe), Baladev (Sri Balaram) and Subhadra are paraded through the streets in their magnificently decorated chariot . During this procession, the atmosphere is filled unlimited happiness by the transcendental sound vibration of the Hare Krishna maha-mantra and Jagannatha’s mercy is freely distributed to everyone.
