OVERVIEW

Stem Cell Research Forum of India (SCRFI) is a society for stem Cell Research. Purpose of this society is to bring together those from the field of biological and medical sciences who have a common interest in the field of stem cell research and to promote scientific research in stem cell biology, to improve scientific understanding in this field, and to disseminate and apply this knowledge to the benefit of mankind. SCRFI is dedicated to the advancement of scientific research in the area of stem cell for wide range of diseases for which there are no cure.

The objectives of the Society are fulfilled in two primary ways. First, the Society organizes an annual scientific meeting dedicated to all aspects of stem cell biology. This international meeting offers opportunities for presentation and discussion of the most up-to-date research in stem cell research as well as reviewing specific aspects through symposia and workshops. Second, the Society has planning to publish a newsletter with up to date information on stem cell research. Members are also kept informed of news and forthcoming meetings through the Society newsletter.

Benefits of active individual membership include reduced subscription to Stem Cell Journal and reduced registration fee for the Annual Meeting, and a contact directory of other members. There are various other categories of membership. Participation of graduate students is particularly encouraged through associate memberships, which are available at reduced cost, while the support of commercial organizations and non-profit academic institutions is sought, respectively, through corporate and institutional memberships.

The Society is governed by a Board of Directors, comprising an Executive Committee of five officers.

The Society requires of all its members the highest ethical and scientific standards in the performance of their professional activities.

Vision
To be the focal point for all the Stem Cell Centers of Excellence in India and around the globe and canalize the efforts of the stem cell research community for betterment in quality of human life.

Mission
Promote stem cell research, exchange ideas and disseminate scientific information about stem cell and provide public education in an effort to help find treatment and cures for a wide range of diseases.

Objectives
The core objectives of the SCRFI are stated here below:

* To be a platform for deliberation on the advances in stem cell research
* Elaborate strategies bringing stem cells to a From research, the power to cure approach
* Focusing on research, SCRFI aims at bringing together a critical mass of international scientists to build a collaborative model
* To interact and collaborate with other professional societies and organizations that are involved in related areas of biological research
* To promote education and training in stem cell research
* To create awareness on current results, outcomes and implications of research in stem cells.
* To leverage the potential for alignment of basic science and entrepreneurs.
