Bruce and Prudence are deeply into therapy. Prudence's macho therapist is urging her to be more assertive while Bruce's wacky female therapist wants him to meet women by placing a personal ad. She does not fully comprehend that Bruce has a male lover who is not pleased by Bruce's desire to date a woman: Prudence. Bruce doesn't know how to handle poor nervous Prudence and Prudence doesn't know what to make of her unpredictable new boyfriend.
The cast, under the direction of Clint Hyne, includes Chris Coughlin as Andrew, Kris Graves as Bob, Jeff Jesmer as Bruce, Timmi Ann Lasley as Prudence, Jill Tafel as Charlotte and Rick Williams as Stuart.
Christopher Durang became especially popular in the 1980s, known for works of outrageous and often absurd comedy. His work often deals critically with issues of childhood abuse, Catholic culture, and homosexuality. His plays include A History of the American Film (Tony nomination, Best Book of a Musical, 1978), The Actor’s Nightmare, Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You, Baby with the Bathwater, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Laughing Wild, Durang/Durang, For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls, Sex and Longing and Betty’s Summer Vacation.
