As one of Finland’s leading pianists, Arto Satukangas returns to Carnegie Hall (57th Street/7th Avenue), Thursday, December 4th, at 8:00pm, with a special concert celebrating the 80th birthday of Einojuhani Rautavaara, one of the best known and most frequently performed Finnish composers. Dedicated to both traditional and contemporary repertoire, the expansive recital includes Rautavaara’s dramatic Piano Sonata No. 2 “The Fire Sermon”, coupled with three shimmering sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, Frédéric Chopin’s Sonata No. 3, and three poetic, symphonic-style works by Franz Liszt.
