An exhibit of fine art purchased by the Friends of the Museums is now on display in the South Gallery of the Kenosha Public Museum. The exhibit features a selection of purchase awards from the annual museum art fair dating back to 1964.

The art work includes a representative sample of local and regional art talent over a 47 year span. A variety of media is represented in the exhibit, including acrylic sculpture, porcelain vessels, watercolor, turned wood and pencil. Each piece becomes a part of the museum's art collection.

“Bluegill,” a wood assembly created by Dick Dahlstrom, was the most recent addition to the collection, purchased in honor of retiring Museum Director Paula Touhey. The exhibit will remain on display through spring 2012.
