The Commonwealth Club Presents:
Financial Transparency and Religious Institutions
Kerry Robinson, Executive Director, National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management
Sister Pat Mitchell, Director of Office of Parish Planning, San Jose Archdiocese
Additional Panelists TBA
Under federal law, churches are not required to open up their books to the general public. But many religious institutions across the U.S. are now encouraging their churches to do just that. In fact, U.S. Catholic bishops recently called on all Catholic dioceses in the country to do certified public audits. Many other churches make their financial information available to the public online. Join us for a discussion on the importance of financial transparency and the rights of religious institutions.
