You are invited to attend the next Final Friday open mic, Friday, May 29, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Thimbleberry Used Books, 166 S. Central Avenue. And we are pleased to announce the first of our “summer spotlight” programs for 2009. Barb Cranford, poet and facilitator of over 30 poetry workshops, will speak about the benefits of workshopping and introduce Write Away!, a new anthology of poems. Poets reading from the anthology are Barb Cranford, Linda Aschbrenner, Debbie Johnston, Jeanette Lindelof, Kris Rued-Clark, Lilas Smith, and Sue Twiggs. The book will be available for sale after the reading.

The “summer spotlight” offers an opportunity to focus on one or more artists and explore topics of interest in greater detail. Our usual, but shorter, open mic will follow the spotlight presentation. Poets, writers and musicians are encouraged to bring original material to perform. Refreshments will be served.

Final Friday open mics are held the last Friday of the month, January through October, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Thimbleberry Used Books, 166 S. Central Avenue.

Due to construction on Central Avenue, use the bookstore’s back entrance. Parking is available in the two municipal parking lots on Chestnut Avenue and Second Street, one block west of Central.
