Ellen Page (Juno, X3: The Last Stand) plays the teenage Tracey, whose mental state deteriorates after her younger brother disappears. She leaves her small town to search for him, only to find more trouble and torment.

Director Bruce McDonald (Kingston, Ontario) shot the film almost entirely in split screen to represent Tracey’s confusion. “Usually,” McDonald explains, “the split screen is used to convey more information. But instead of trying to show more, we thought more along the lines of the ripple effect. We wanted to show the effects of throwing one stone in the water. Like a piece of music, where there’s a good part, but with no lyrics. It was about style.”

***NOTE: Add'l screening at 7:00pm this evening and throughout 4-6; go to http://www.connect2canada.com/connect/calendar for details.
